Science
In Science, the students are learning about the scientific method. They make and record observations about the world around them, make predictions, ask questions, and draw conclusions about what they've learned. In first grade, the students engage in these three units of study:
- Air and Weather: What is air? What is wind? What types of weather are there? How to meteorologists measure the weather?
- Balance and Motion: How do different things balance? What is a counterweight? What are different ways that objects move? What is force?
- Plants: How are new plants started? What is the life cycle of a plant? What do the different parts of the plant do for the plant?
